In the firm’s continuous effort to make Palm Beach County a better place to live, GOLDLAW staff was out in the community again last week, making a significant donation of technology goods to For the Children, Inc., including 10 computers and 4 monitors. GOLDLAW’s Chief Legal Officer, Spencer Kuvin, is a longtime supporter of the the organization.
“For the Children is an amazing organization that I became involved with years ago when my son volunteered to help,” said Kuvin. “Reggie is a wonderful advocate for children and has grown this organization into a wonderful place for children to come after school and receive tutoring, homework assistance, computer training, and many other benefits that children from difficult neighborhood usually do not receive.”
History of For the Children
Founded in 1999 by Reginale “Reggie” Durandisse with $250 and the support of a group of concerned citizens who saw a need for educational, recreational, and family support services for children ages 3-19 in the Lake Worth, FL area, the agency has become a safe haven and trusted resource for parents seeking a positive, nurturing environment free of violence, drugs, and negative peer pressure. The agency provides multiple services for children, including:

Other Programs offered by For the Children
In addition to For the Children, Reggie, a native of Haiti, created the Haitian Citizen United Taskforce in 2002 to empower Haitian-Americans and immigrants through naturalization, voter registration, get-out-to-vote efforts and public forums with elected local, state and federal public officials. In 2003, Reggie founded the Tribune, a one-hour Saturday afternoon radio program to educate the community in areas including childbearing and family issues, immigration and law. Guests are interviewed in English, Creole, and Spanish. Reggie and her causes have made a huge impact throughout Palm Beach County.
“Our hope is that by supporting this organization, many more children will benefit from the assistance that For the Children provides,” said Kuvin. “We hope that it encourages others to do what they can to support their local communities and provide the same assistance to children and others in need throughout Palm Beach County.”
