Sean “P-Diddy” Combs, an icon in the music and entertainment industries, has come under intense scrutiny due to a series of serious sex trafficking allegations against him.
The investigation into these allegations took a significant turn yesterday, March 25, when federal agents conducted raids on two of his properties in Los Angeles and Miami. Why were the raids conducted?
“Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation,” said a Homeland Security Investigations spokesperson. The individual also said further information will be provided as becomes available.
The allegations are not new to Sean Combs. They span decades and have painted a concerning scenario of abuse and exploitation. Notably, Combs’ former girlfriend, Casandra Ventura, who performs as “Cassie,” filed a sex trafficking and sex trafficking and sexual assault lawsuit against him in November 2023. The suit alleges that Combs lured her into an “ostentatious, fast-paced and drug-fueled lifestyle,” raped and beat her, and allegedly forced her into “repeated unwanted sexual encounters,” with male sex workers he hired over a period of 10 years. Combs’ companies Bad Boy Entertainment, Bad Boy Records, and Combs Enterprises, LLC, were also named in the claim. The suit settled for an undisclosed amount the next day.

Additional accusations against Sean Combs followed settlement
Days after the settlement of the case brought by Ventura, another woman who claims Sean Combs sexually assaulted her in 1991. Joi Dickerson-Neal, a college student and waitress at the time, alleges Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her and shared a video of the assault with his peers in the music industry. In December, 2023, an anonymous woman also filed a lawsuit alleging Combs and his associates raped her when she was just 17-years-old. Both Ventura and Dickerson-Neal filed their lawsuits before the deadline of the New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which opened a one-year window for victims of sexual assault to make claims about events that ordinarily would run afoul of the statute of limitations. Most recently, in February 2024, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, Jr., a music producer who has worked with Combs, accused him of sexual assault. In the lawsuit, he also accused Combs and his associates of participating in a “sex-trafficking venture.”
