$2.4 Million Jury Verdict for Man Who Suffered Permanent Brain Injury at Fort Lauderdale Bar

A night out in Downtown Fort Lauderdale turned into a life-altering experience for a 30-year-old man who suffered a permanent traumatic brain injury after being forcibly pushed out of a bar by a bouncer.

In the early morning hours of November 6, 2021, W.G. was at Booze Garden in Fort Lauderdale’s Himmarshee Village entertainment district when a bouncer pushed him with such force that the back of his head slammed onto the concrete sidewalk. The impact left him with a head wound requiring nine staples and injuries that would affect him for the rest of his life.

W.G. was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome and a permanent traumatic brain injury to the right frontal lobe. His injuries resulted in lasting complications, including tinnitus, brain fog, and double vision that required surgery in 2024. He also faces an increased risk of developing dementia later in life.
