Music and entertainment Mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who faced a litany of sexual assault lawsuits and a federal human trafficking accusation earlier this year has been arrested.
According to his attorney, Sean Combs was arrested in New York City Monday night and taken into custody by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). The arrest was made based on an indictment that is expected to be unsealed Tuesday morning, per a statement from the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. HIS, the lead investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security, is responsible for investigating transactional crime and threats, including human trafficking, terrorism, drug smuggling, and other activities of organized crime.
What Led to the Arrest?
On March 25, federal agents conducted raids on two of Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami as part of an ongoing investigation into accusations of abuse and exploitation by his former girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, and other women.
In November 2023, Ventura filed a sex trafficking and sexual abuse lawsuit against Combs. Combs’ companies Bad Boy Entertainment, Bad Boy Records, and Combs Enterprises, LLC, were also named in the claim. The suit settled for an undisclosed amount the next day.
Additional Accusations followed the Settlement
Days after the settlement agreement with Ventura, Joi-Dickerson-Neal, a college student, accused Combs of drugging her, then sexually assaulting her in 1991. In December, 2023, an anonymous woman also filed a lawsuit alleging Combs and his associates raped her when she was just 27-years-old. Both women filed their lawsuits before the deadline of the New York Survivors Act, which opened a one-year window for victims of sexual assault to make claims about events that ordinarily may have been disallowed by the statute of limitations.
Sean Combs Denies all Allegations; has been “cooperating” with Authorities
Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Agnifilo went on to say that his client has been cooperating with the investigation that led to the indictment, and that he maintains his innocence, and says he has “nothing to hide.”
10 Lawsuits since November 2023
Since last November, Sean Combs has been hit with 10 lawsuits, nine directly accusing him of sexual assault. Several of those accusers have met with federal investigators for questioning as part of the wide-ranging investigation.

Both State and Federal law have very strong laws against this type of behavior and the attorneys at GOLDLAW have been able to successfully prosecute numerous similar cases. Holding these despicable people to account for their actions is what makes GOLDLAW special in our fight for justice.”
