Spreading the word about Food Allergies
GOLDLAW had a powerful presence at International Red Sneakers Day (IRSD) on Sunday, May 19th.
International Red Sneakers Day is a Major Fundraiser for Red Sneakers for Oakley
The event held at City Place/The Square in West Palm Beach, is a major fundraiser, and the biggest outreach day each year for the non-profit Red Sneakers for Oakley (RSFO).
The charity was founded in 2016 by the parents of Oakley Debbs, after the 11-year-old passed away from an anaphylactic reaction brought on by his food allergy.
RSFO is grounded in the sense that education is desperately needed between allergists, hospitals, first-responders, parents, schools, and the general public. The non-profit has dedicated its resources to education and advocacy for food allergy awareness to save lives across the globe.
Craig Goldenfarb suffers from a Food Allergy
GOLDLAW Founder & CEO Craig Goldenfarb has been a supporter of RSFO/IRSD for many years, and for a good reason:
“As someone who suffers from a tree nut allergy, I’m well aware of the dangers an individual faces if they are exposed to the allergen,” said Goldenfarb. “Over the years, I’ve gone into anaphylactic shock three times, and almost died. Thankfully, restaurants, airlines, and schools are starting to take the problem more seriously, but we still have a lot of work to do with respect to education the public about the severity of food allergies.
GOLDLAW’s Client Relations Manager, Jennifer Fisher, was part of the firm entourage that was on hand to show its support for the cause, along with hundreds of others.
“We had a wonderful time interacting with the other vendors, sponsors, and supporters of International Red Sneakers Day,” said Fisher. “Organizers said the event, which reached 7 million people last year was expected to reach even more in 2024! The GOLDLAW team distributed tons of swag, and worked with the other participants to provide support and awareness for a great cause.”
